Getting opportunities and continuing to grow
Nele proves that a career at ArcelorMittal Belgium can take you in many different directions. She started seven years ago in Ghent, working on a European project focused on customer service. "My manager actively contributed ideas on how to keep my job challenging," she explains.
When Nele indicated that she was ready for a new challenge, preferably abroad, she received everyone's support. For two years, she worked in the south of France on the rollout of a new transport planning system. "It was a unique experience in which I was given a lot of responsibility and was able to work with colleagues of different nationalities," she says.
After returning to Belgium, HR helped her take the next step. Today, Nele leads the Information Management & Reporting team within the supply chain. "I manage 15 people, work closely with IT, and ensure that our department is ready for the future," she explains. In addition to her job, Nele continues to develop herself through training, learning networks, and initiatives such as the young spokesperson program. "After media training, I was given challenging assignments, such as a company presentation during Open Company Day and participation in podcasts," she says enthusiastically.
