ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks confirms that the information and consultation phase regarding the proposed closure of its operations in Ghent has been officially completed. ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks Ghent currently employs 90 people.

During this consultation phase, the intention to close was further explained and all questions, suggestions, comments, and any counterproposals were discussed with the social partners in a transparent and constructive manner.

In parallel with this procedure, a social plan was drawn up in close consultation between ArcelorMittal and the social partners. The social plan provides for:

  • Full employment guarantee within ArcelorMittal Belgium for all employees concerned who wish to continue working within the company, with retention of remuneration aspects.
  • A voluntary departure scheme with financial compensation for employees who choose to leave ArcelorMittal.

ArcelorMittal remains fully committed to supporting every employee during this transition and to ensuring that all measures are implemented in a transparent, responsible, and respectful manner.

The social plan was approved by 71.11% of the employees concerned on February 20. The formal decision regarding the proposed restructuring now rests with the board of directors.
