Theory

Based on your prior knowledge and your work location, a tailored training package will be put together for you. These courses are conducted in groups at the central training center. Our instructors combine practical experience with teaching skills. Most of our instructors have worked at ArcelorMittal for many years and can therefore tailor the course material perfectly to your work environment. Broadly speaking, we distinguish between two streams: Mechanics and Electrical Engineering. Later in your career, you can specialize in fields such as Hydraulics, Welding Technology, Process Instrumentation, Control Engineering…

Practice

In addition to theoretical training, we also focus on practical exercises. Through practical internships, your skills in your field will be honed by an experienced professional. In a safe environment, they will share their knowledge with you, and you will be able to apply it immediately. These internships take place at various locations within the company, away from your normal working environment, so that you can focus fully on your training. A practical instructor will guide you through this process, so that everything can proceed at your own pace .

What's right for you?

  • Mechanics
We systematically build up your knowledge. Basic knowledge in Mathematics, Physics, and Materials Science forms the foundation upon which the practice-oriented training programs are built. Once you’ve mastered the basics, we move on to applied knowledge: this is essential for you to develop into an independent technician within your field. At a later stage, you can choose to advance to become a specialist. Approximately 40 different training courses are held regularly: ranging from learning to take measurements and read mechanical drawings to troubleshooting complex malfunctions.
  • Or Electricity?
In the initial phase, we’ll cover the basics: the principles of alternating current and direct current, energy distribution within our company, and more. This foundation is essential for working safely. This is followed by a training program tailored to your specific role, such as: electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation specialist, high-voltage specialist, control technician, etc. Within this field, there is also the opportunity to advance through training to become a specialist in your specific area of expertise.
