Theory

Based on your prior knowledge and your job location, a suitable package of training courses will be put together. These courses are held in groups at the central training center. Our instructors combine practical experience with teaching skills. Most of the instructors have worked at ArcelorMittal for many years and can therefore tailor the course material perfectly to your working environment. We distinguish between two main streams: Mechanics and Electricity. Later in your career, you can specialize in areas such as Hydraulics, Welding Technology, Process Instrumentation, Control Technology, etc.

Practice

In addition to theoretical training, we also focus on practical exercises. Through practical internships, your skills in your field will be honed by an experienced professional. In a safe environment, they will share their knowledge with you, and you will be able to apply it immediately. These internships take place at various locations within the company, away from your normal working environment, so that you can focus fully on your training. A practical instructor will guide you through this process, so that everything can proceed at your own pace .

What suits you?

  • Mechanics
We systematically build up your knowledge. Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, and materials science forms the foundation on which the practical training courses build. Once you have mastered the basics, you will move on to applied knowledge: it is essential to develop into an independent technician within your field of work. At a later stage, you can choose to continue your development to become a specialist. Approximately 40 different courses are offered on a regular basis: ranging from learning to measure and read mechanical plans to dealing with complex malfunctions.
  • Or Electricity?
In the first phase, we discuss the basic components, the principles of alternating current and direct current, energy distribution within our company, etc. This foundation is necessary to be able to work safely. This is followed by a package of training courses tailored to your specific job, such as: dealing with electrical faults, instrumentation specialist, high-voltage specialist, control technician, etc. In this stream, too, there is the opportunity to progress through training to become a specialist in your specific field.
