The measures we took yesterday to reduce the increased noise levels around our Steelanol plant—specifically, the temporary reduction in gas flow—have had the desired effect. Recent measurements show that noise levels are once again comparable to those prior to the capacity increase from two to three bioreactors.

Early next week, we will install additional sound insulation on the facility. Our goal is to minimize the impact on the surrounding area, even in the event of future increases in production capacity.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and take additional measures as necessary.

At our Steelanol plant, where CO from our residual gases is converted into ethanol, we have recently noticed an increase in noise levels that may also be audible in the surrounding area. A third reactor was commissioned on Monday, July 27. As a result, we are processing more gas than before. 

After starting up this reactor, we noticed an increase in noise levels in the pipe that carries the gas away. Although we had already installed a silencer at the end of last year based on previous measurements, it appears that the new situation is causing additional noise in other parts of the plant. 

To pinpoint the exact cause, an external noise specialist conducted additional measurements today. Based on the results, we will take further measures, including the installation of additional sound insulation. In preparation, scaffolding is currently being set up so that we can quickly begin the work early next week.

To immediately reduce noise pollution, we are once again lowering the gas flow rate today to the level it was at before July 27. This process will take a few hours and should be completed by 7:00 p.m. at the latest. We expect this to eliminate the recent noise disturbance.

After that, we will continue to monitor the situation and assess whether additional measures are needed.
