Just before noon, the feeder cable for our 36 kV distribution network was struck during excavation work on the R4.
This has caused several pieces of equipment to shut down, including the blast furnace blower and parts of the coking plant.
As a result, the gas extraction system was also temporarily shut down, leading to the flaring of blast furnace gas and coke oven gas for approximately 2.5 hours. In the meantime, the facilities have been reconnected to the local grid and production has resumed.
