In early August, an elevated noise level was detected at our Steelanol plant. Over the past few weeks, we installed additional sound insulation around the gas pipeline, which was the source of the noise. This work was completed on August 17.

Afterward, we conducted additional noise measurements. The results show that the insulation installed significantly reduces the noise level from this source.

Over the next few days, we will gradually increase the gas flow rate again. We will closely monitor the situation through regular internal noise measurements and periodic inspections by an external noise expert. In addition, extra temporary noise monitoring stations have been set up between the Steelanol plant and Sint-Kruis-Winkel to closely monitor the impact on the surrounding area.

If these measurements indicate that additional measures are needed, we will take them immediately. In this way, we aim to minimize any potential disruption to the surrounding area as much as possible.
