ArcelorMittal Belgium develops and produces flat steel in various grades, coated or uncoated, as well as by-products generated during the steel production process. This is done with attention to all environmental aspects, both during the production process itself and during all subsequent and preceding steps in the logistics chain in which ArcelorMittal Belgium is involved.

ArcelorMittal Belgium aims to be a leader in sustainability within the industrial world. ‘Environment and Energy’ is therefore a strategic pillar of our organization. To continuously improve our operations, we combine the WCM methodology with recognized management systems that comply with ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and ResponsibleSteel standards.

For the well-being of current and future generations, we commit to:

  • We develop and improve production methods with the lowest possible environmental impact, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, and the highest possible recirculation rate. 
  • We develop and manufacture products with excellent environmental performance, energy efficiency and circularity, in close collaboration with customers and suppliers.
     
  • We carry out all activities with the aim of continuously reducing the specific energy consumption and CO₂ emissions of our processes. 
  • We maximize the generation of renewable energy at our own sites.
     
  • We engage all employees, especially our management, in environmentally friendly, energy-efficient production and compliance with legal obligations and all other commitments made.
     
  • We promote an environmentally responsible and energy-conscious attitude through information and training, and the sharing of best practices. We ensure that we always have the necessary information to achieve our operational objectives
