From Tuesday, October 20, through Friday, October 23, we will once again be conducting leak tests on three of Steelanol’s bioreactors. These tests are part of the preparations for the plant’s restart.

The leak tests were temporarily suspended due to a technical problem with the nitrogen compressor. That problem has since been resolved, allowing us to resume the tests. During the tests, the reactors are pressurized. When the pressure is released, a brief but clearly audible venting sound may occur. This will happen a total of three times this week.

We carry out these activities exclusively during daylight hours to minimize disruption to the surrounding area as much as possible.
