Preparations are in full swing for the restart of our Galva 5 galvanizing line in Flémalle, Liège. After years of inactivity, the line will once again play a strategic role in our Belgian operations. From the second quarter of 2026, hot-rolled steel coils Ghent will once again be galvanized in Flémalle.
The moment when everything starts moving again is almost here. Our galvanizing line in Flémalle is almost ready to shine again.
Since the purchase of the line in July 2025 , a broad recovery and renewal program has been launched. This includes safety training, technical risk analyses, roofing work, the dismantling and repair of the zinc bath, and maintenance of the roll feeding and unwinding equipment. In parallel with this, the team was further expanded and new employees were trained. The site has also been given a renewed digital infrastructure.
